Peter spoke of what the exhibition and the project meant to him: "I am proud to be involved in the Images of England project especially being able to photograph some of the buildings that have been a part of my life. This is your heritage and mine. The photographs I have taken for the project reflect the diversity of the Erewash area."

The Mayor of Erewash, Councillor George Buckley, opened the exhibition, sharing with guests some of his memories of the buildings that Peter has photographed.

The exhibition offers an introduction to the huge variety of listed buildings across England, which include not only palaces and country houses but also lesser-known structures such as milestones, telephone boxes and lamp posts. Derbyshire has more than 6,000 listed buildings, including the Grade II listed townhouse that contains the Erewash Museum.
